A Healthy Thanksgiving Dinner Makes for Happy Smiles

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year! Food, family, friends, and more food…I mean, what more could you want?

This year, I have decided to create a healthier version of some of my favorite Thanksgiving dishes. On the table for our “Healthy Thanksgiving Meal” will be…

  • Turkey
  • Thank God For Oats Stuffing
  • Gravy
  • Green Bean Casserole
  • Mashed Sweet Potatoes
  • Healthy Mini Apple Pies

Easiest turkeys to buy are the ones with the instructions on the bag; they come with the temp gage that pops out when they are done!

1 turkey

2 apples chopped

1 large onion chopped

2 Tbs (or more) olive oil

Small handful of fresh sage

Salt and pepper to taste

Prepare turkey per instructions. Chop apples and onions and stuff turkey with them. This will add flavor and keep turkey moist. Brush top of turkey with olive oil, sprinkle salt and pepper, and you can lay the sage on top or put inside turkey as well, which ever you prefer! Cook turkey per instructions and enjoy!

  1. Thanks. Will do!

  2. On your stuffing, is the 1T sage fresh or dried?
