Clean Pizza Recipe

As you know by now, pizza is not something I would normally ever recommend you eat, BUT today is an exception. I have discovered an amazing new type of pizza that even someone like me, who has to avoid gluten and dairy, can fully enjoy! Before you close this screen thinking that because it’s healthy, gluten free and dairy free, that it must taste absolutely terrible, hear me out. Out of all my family members, I would have to say that my dad (although he is very good about trying things and swears he is low maintenance about food) is probably the least into my random healthy concoctions, so I usually make the normal version for him of whatever weird version I’m eating at meals. However, on this pizza night that I was beyond excited for, I only made this one pizza. I told him if he didn’t like it that I would make pasta for him, but he had to try it first. Well, to all of our amazement, his especially, he really liked it.

For those of you interested in eating clean or for those that already do, this is a recipe I came across on a great blog that you should all check out if you are curious about trying to get into eating clean, it’s called He & She Eat Clean.

So here is the recipe to deliciousness:
1 lb ground chicken breast
2 egg whites
½ cup oats (I used gluten free quick oats)
Italian seasoning
tomato sauce of your choice
whatever toppings you desire—I used spinach, mushrooms, olives, tomatoes, and bell peppers
~optional: cheese—I put reduced fat mozzarella on half for those family member that do eat dairy

Mix together the ground chicken, oats, egg whites, and Italian seasoning to form your crust. Spread it out on a pizza stone or pan, bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Take it out of the oven, spread on your tomato sauce, cheese if you want, and toppings, then put it back in the oven for another 10 minutes. Take it out and enjoy!
