Smile Generation partners with Communities in Schools of Southern Nevada

Studies show that over 133 students drop out of school every school day and only 45% of Nevada’s high school students graduate. During the past year the Smile Generation-affiliated offices in the Nevada Region partnered with Communities in Schools of Southern Nevada (CIS) to provide community support which helps students feel enriched, empowered and help them achieve success. According to Regional Marketing Assistant Carisa Litzinger, “In January 2011, the Nevada Region issued a call to action asking our patients to donate items in exchange for discounts on treatment. With our patient donations, we gathered enough jackets to fill the entire coat closet for CIS. Then we asked for toys and school supplies and again our patients generously gave enough to supply CIS with months of birthday gifts for the kids and backpacks full of supplies, so they can start the school year off right. And then we ended the year with a successful drive for toys and food for the holidays.”

As a result of their efforts, the Nevada Region and the Smile Generation were honored at the Clark County School District’s Annual Recognition Breakfast along with many other companies including Stations Casinos, United Healthcare, Cox Communications and University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Carisa reveals that “We are looking forward to 2012 and developing more ways we can touch lives and create awareness for others to get involved in their communities.” In fact, the region is starting off the new year with a Hygiene Product Drive. During January, February and March, Smile Generation-approved offices in Nevada are searching for hygiene products to benefit Communities in School of Southern Nevada. Smile Generation offices will be collecting the following supplies during office hours: dental items, soap, shampoo, conditioner, under garments, socks, and shoes for kindergarten to 12th grade students. Donors who give a minimum of $10 worth in supplies, will receive $50 off any dentistry or $75 off CEREC CAD/CAM Single Visit Crown*

Hygiene Product Drive at Smile Generation Offices in Nevada
