Smiles Around the Country: June 2017 Recap

The Smile Generation®-trusted offices are committed to serving people in need, both in the dental office and in our community.  With compassionate volunteers across the country, the Smile Generation has the power to impact and serve many communities in need. This monthly blog series will help highlight some of the ways that Smile Generation volunteers are making a difference with donated dental services and more.

The Smile Generation volunteers kicked off the summer by getting out in the community and helping those in need by hosting collection drives, donating free dentistry and volunteering with local organizations. Here are the top five ways our teams around the country helped serve communities during the month of June:

  1. Collected 2,000 Paper Goods

Offices in Tucson, AZ collected over 2,000 paper goods (toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, paper plates and dinner napkins) for homeless children, youth and families served by New Beginnings.

  1. Built a Labyrinth out of Non-Perishable Foods

Several offices in Houston, TX worked together to collect non-perishable food items to create a heart-shaped labyrinth, which they then donated to the Houston Food Bank.

  1. Made Breakfast for Deserving Families

Volunteers in Orange County helped prepare breakfast for the families at the Ronald McDonald House who were visiting their family members in the hospital.

  1. Provided 59 Patients with Donated Dentistry

Volunteers in Phoenix, AZ and Fountain, CO partnered with the Pacific Dental Services Foundation to provide nearly $65,000 in donated dentistry to 80 people in need!

  1. Stocked and Served Groceries to Homeless Individuals

Volunteers in Cedar Park, TX helped stock and serve groceries to the homeless with Reveal Ministries Food Pantry.

These are just some of the many ways that Smile Generation volunteers are helping to impact communities around the country!
