Serving more than Smiles in 2016

Serving really starts in the heart with the desire to help someone else in need.  It then leads to the head and asks the questions, “Do I really want to do something?” and then hopefully “What can I do to get involved?” Next, it transitions into the actual task of serving someone else.  If all of this goes as planned, it ends with a smile knowing that you were able to make a difference in the life of someone in need.

In 2016, Smile Generation®-trusted teams were able to make a tremendous impact in their backyard and around the world.  As a result, they:

  • Raised $702,000 to provide 23,400 people in Ethiopia (Most NBA basketball arenas seat around 19,000) clean safe drinking water through charity: water
  • Built two playgrounds with the non profit KaBoom! (Kids who have play as part of their day do better in school, become better team players, and develop into more creative thinkers)
  • Provided nearly $7.1 million in donated dentistry, including nearly $4.1 million as part of Smile Generation Serve Day (Since 2011, Smile Gen Serve Day has provided over $15 million in donated dentistry)
  • Donated over 50,000 volunteer hours of volunteer time serving their communities (that’s nearly 5.7 years)

We’re extremely proud of all these accomplishments and look forward to another great year creating smiles in 2017!
