Thousands have lived without love, not one without water.

More than 748 million people lack access to clean water, over 20x the population of California! World Water Day is March 22, 2105 — and people all over the world will bring awareness to the water crisis.

Over the last three weeks, jerrycans (the traditional form of water transportation in developing nations) have been traveling the nation, dropping in on Smile Generation®-trusted dental offices to help spread awareness of the water crisis. The travel route has included some beautiful areas and national landmarks, including the:

  • Red Rocks of Colorado
  • Seattle Seahawks home in Renton, WA
  • Sunny rays of the CA coast
  • Wintery north of Minnesota
  • Wonderful weirdness in Austin TX
  • Suburbs of Atlanta, GA

In fact, the jerrycans have visited nearly every Smile Generation-trusted office from Bakersfield to San Clemente, CA. You can track the jerrycans’ journey on Instagram by searching the hashtag #worldwaterday. For every office that the jerrycan visits, Smile Generation will donate $20 to charity: water, with the goal of raising $10,000 to build a freshwater well in Tigray, Ethiopia.

You can help raise awareness for World Water Day too!

  1. Tell the story of the traveling jerrycans to anyone who will listen, and help bring clean water to people in need!
  2. Share a water themed picture on Instagram using the hashtags: #748million, #worldwaterday and #smilegeneration.
  3. Donate to charity: water and be a part of the change!

Thank you for helping to share the story of the Smile Generation traveling jerrycans.

Because water changes everything.
