Nibble, nibble! It’s National Nutrition Month!

March is National Nutrition Month, and we think it’s a great time to start eating rich—as in eating foods that are rich in vitamins, nutrients and all things good for the smiles in your family. Of course, the trick is often finding foods that are healthy that your family will love. If you have a hard time getting your family to eat a proper diet, here are a few healthy eating tips to make National Nutrition Month 2017 a game-changer.

  1. Hide the fruits and veggies in plain site. Try adding shredded zucchini or carrots to your regular brownie recipe. Or add a chopped apple to the morning oatmeal and make an already-healthy breakfast ever better for everyone. Add a healthy handful of spinach to a frozen fruit smoothie—the kids will never taste it but they’ll still benefit from the additional veggies in their diet.
  1. Don’t hide them at all. Slice up some carrot or celery sticks and serve them with a little dip, like ranch dressing, on the side. Or add a small pat of butter to steamed vegetables. There’s nothing wrong—and a lot right—about taking small, tasty steps to make vegetables taste better for picky eaters!
  1. Make sure everyone drinks plenty of water. No, it’s not a food, but it will help curb your family’s appetite. And fluoridated water promotes healthy teeth, too. In fact, if you keep a water glass by your sink, just have a glass when you’re brushing your teeth. It’s a great reminder to get in your 8 glasses a day.
  1. Try whole wheat pasta instead of regular. One cup of whole wheat pasta has about twice the amount of fiber as regular. And
